Question

The amount of overtime should be added back on New YorkState Returns. Where do we do that? Why is it not automatic?

are you sure?  most states start with the federal AGI, which has not been reduced by the OT or Tips deduction, so there wouldn't be an add back.

Im not familiar with NY, but if I were youd Id follow the money on teh NY return and see if that's a correct assumption or not.

    You don't make any adjustments - the new laws are federal only and are below AGI on the 1040. NY starts with AGI and the deductions are not included. YOUR MAKE NO ADJUSTMENTS FOR ANY OF THE NEW TAX LAWS.
