A client moved from KY to IN in 2023. His employer continued to withhold taxes from KY in 2024 even though he did not live or work in KY. How do I fill out the KY return so he can get his taxes paid in refunded? If I put 0 income in the KY column on the nonresident form the program says its an error, that he cannot have more taxes withheld than income. So how do I resolve this?

Sounds like you need to file  KY nonresident return to get back the erroneous withholding.

Use the non-resident state worksheet at the bottom of the Federal Information worksheet to allocate zero income to KY.

If you can't get things to work putting zero in the KY allocation worksheets without getting an error, then paper file.
