Tax Return sent to IRS

I recently submitted a 2022 tax return to the IRS 3 days ago.  The EF status is still showing "Sent to IRS".  I have never seen a return take this long to be accepted.  Is this normal for the IRS to take this long in accepting a return?

      Could be a variety of reasons.  For one the IRS only opened a few days ago for e-filing.  Could be they're systems are overwhelmed.  Could be a form in the return is not ready for e-file.  Could be goblins that lurk within  ProSeries.

        Happens to me every year. Usually gets rejected because a form was not ready but somehow let me efile it or the goblins.

        Finally got accepted both federal and state !!

        Have you tried highlighting the return in the EF homebase and clicked on "update acknowledgements"?  Sometimes returns need to be kicked in the butt to receive the acknowledgement.

          Im still waiting on a 2022 sent three days ago also.
