SE TAX DEFERRAL 2020 TAX YEAR

Hello Community, I am in the process of filing a 1040X for a new client for tax year 2020. I noticed on his PDF that he had a $4,200 deferral for SE tax. However, when I enter this amount on line 18 for SE tax, the result of $240 on line 26 does not seem to appear on Schedule 3, line 12e.

Thanks for your assistance.

Nope, EFiling for 2020 is closed.   2023, 2022 and 2021 are the only years that can be Efiled now.

2020 returns with refunds are still eligible to be funded, but not filed electronically, they must be mailed.

That seems like so long ago.....make sure that 2020 is updated.

You may need to use override and put it where it goes, since 2020 will need to be paper filed, overrides shouldn't make a difference.

There is another worksheet you need to go to.

It is on the 1040Wks (not the actual 1040, but the 1040 Worksheet), then scroll down to Schedule 3 and there is another worksheet.
