Rental improvement date placed in service

Remodeling on a rental was done throughout the year.  Date placed in service?  Dec?  Home was "usable" throughout.

Doesn't qualify to be expensed under safe-harbor rules?  I have been known to use July for everything if it doesn't look like it would make much difference from breaking it down even further.

    27.5 years is a long run....  a few months either way doesn't usually make much difference... i agree w/ Bob
