Quick Employer Forms - What does CANCEL on a E-FILED 1099-NEC Do?

I had to correct a Payee detail on 1099-NEC that was E-filed with Quick Employer Forms.

I clicked the Cancel option on the e-filed return and couple hours later it says the IRS has accepted the e-filed form 25 January 2025.

So, do I need to file another 1099-NEC. I don't want the IRS to duplicate the 1099-NEC on the recipient.

It was just a name correction.

You'll need to file a Corrected 1099.

The more I know the more I don’t know.

Right but, I still don't understand what e-filling the CANCEL action actually did. Like did it retract the original 1099-NEC.

Not if it was accepted by IRS.

The more I know the more I don’t know.
