ProSeries Why did 2026 Tax Planner change the standard deduction for taxpayers filing MFJ & both spouses over 65 years old from $35,500 ($32,200 +1,650+1,650) to $37,500?

A week ago, the standard deduction for 2026 for MFJ and both spouses > 65 calculated $35,500. This affected 2 of my clients this week.

Since the 2026 tax forms have not been finalized, there is currently no designated line for taxpayers to claim cash charity contributions if they are also using the standard deduction.   If they have at least $2K in cash donations this year, that amount is being added to the 2026 standard deduction until the form is finalized.

$35,500 is correct based on current IRS guidance.  I think you do have the ability to change it back to that manually via an override.
