ProSeries NYS Joint Return Diagnostic - Taxpayer and Spouse with Different NYC Residency Statuses
Hi,
I am preparing a NYS joint resident return where the taxpayer is a NYS non-resident of NYC and the spouse is a NYC resident. After accounting for this on the NYS joint resident return, I get a diagnostic saying that the NYS return is not eligible for electronic filing because ProSeries does not support information in a joint filing to be e-filed when one filer is a NYC non-resident and the other is a NYC resident (see image below). Is there a way to still e-file the return?
