Proseries - Form 1040 - Schedule C - Car and Truck Expense Worksheet

Proseries seems to be computing both the Sec. 179 and bonus depreciation incorrectly. The total amount allowed for a luxury passenger auto under 6k is $20,200 for tax year 2025. Sec. 179 $12,200 and bonus at $8k. The system is computing $12,120 limit for either bonus or Sec. 179. This comes straight off the IRS website. Notice the asterisk for autos added in 2025. Has anyone else dealt with this?

What's the business use percent?

The more I know the more I don’t know.

That’s it. Business percentage is 60% x 20,200 = $12,120 total limitation of Sec.179 and Bonus.

Per Publication 463, page 23, second column, second paragraph, if bonus depreciation was not allowed, the total first year depreciation allowed would be $12,200.
