Client received W-2 with amount in box 14 for premium overtime earnings (this according to the payroll dept. for his company is equal to 1/3 of the total overtime for 2025.  On the W-2 worksheet in Pro Series I put the amount in box 14 and used the "overtime" explanation.  Entering the amount there did not change the taxpayer's 1040 at all.  He is within the income limits to qualify for a deduction.  Do I need to enter this information manually on Schedule 1 A?

Scroll down to Page 2 of the W2 worksheet, Part VIII.  You enter that amount down there, on Line 14d

Box 14 is just informational, it doesnt "do" anything with OT.

If you put the OT in box 14 it puts that data into the appropriate place on the W2 but there are other options that you need to check for the deduction to be made on schedule 1-A

I had one that was not clearly marked on the w-2 so i had to get it off the paystub. I have only seen the one spot on the w-2 input screen that askes if they are exempt from FLSA. It only figures the part above their regular pay.
