Investment houses that won't do the math on Foreign income, US Gov't income in dividends and state tax exempt income - why do I have to waste tons of time for a 0.22% item 45 times over?

Clients - grrr. Returns out for family. Oh - forgot to tell you, daughter who was a dependent got married last year. Oh, they now live in London. No, he's not a US citizen and doesn't have a Social Security Number. And you couldn't have told me that BEFORE I finished the tax returns?

I just love this job.

Re: US Obligations and state tax exempt:

Unless it looks like it will be significant and the info is not provided I skip it.

Fidelity, Vanguard, T Rowe Price and American Funds have good "Tax Centers" on their websites with this % info. I keep copies in my file and pull out when it looks like it will matter. .22% does not matter to me.

The more I know the more I don’t know.
