Electronic payment of taxes for client - worried about liability if error by software

    I’ve never had an issue with the ACH payments (as long as I set them up correctly). As far as liability for mistakes I may make, there’s E&O insurance.  

    If at first you don’t succeed…..find a workaround

    Its really easy to schedule them on IRS DirectPay if youre not comfortable with the tax program doing it. 

    The only issue with paying at Direct Pay is they only allow you to schedule 2 payments in a 24 hour period, so you cant schedule all 4 ES payment at the same time, you have to come back the next day for the other 2.

    Are your clients telling you they're not smart enough to pay their own bills?  If they come to your office, do you use your Uber account so they can arrive on time?  How do they pay your fees, do they let you access their checking accounts for that also?  

    I'm always surprised by the hand-holding peripherals that have been added to the tax return preparation business.
