PAPER REFUND CHECKS

A few of my clients still want paper checks for their federal refunds.  IRS website says they are still doing paper checks for refund but my client got a letter stating that they are not.  The letter says he needs to set up an account at IRS and enter bank information or set up a prepaid debit card and enter that information on his account.  Anyone else seeing this?  I could use TPG to get a paper check but return is already filed so too late for that.  Anyone else seeing this?  Any work around?

Same problem really. The IRS has phased out refund checks and my client got a similar notice. IRS to phase out paper tax refund checks starting with individual taxpayers | Internal Revenue Service

So I think ProSeries needs to update their software, as YOU CANNOT GET A CHECK IN THE MAIL anymore. Effective September 30, 2025
