NYS Refund Delays

I must have a dozen or better clients that have refunds coming from NYS that have been "in Process" for up to 6 weeks. I have reviewed the taxes and do not see any errors. Are there others out there that are having the same issue? Some of my clients are getting antsy.

I am based in NYC and i would say 70% of my clients are from NYC. Only one has mentioned having to wait more than the usual 2-3 weeks

There have been a lot of posts and discussion regarding the New York inflation refund checks that were issued this year and that early in the season some software and/or preparers were not handling it correctly (or at least how the NY DOR required). Any chance these clients received refund checks? Pretty sure that NY issued 1099Gs. If that's the case try searching other posts here for more insight.

That might be the case. To be fair, from 2/1 - 3/15, I spend more time on S corp and partnership returns than on personal ones. The one client that asked about the NYS refund was in mid February, so makes sense. But, that's only one person mentioning it to me. Most of the NY clients that I had that were eligible to receive an inflation check did know they received it. I had a few tell me they didn't. Then of course a few days later, they realized they did. It reminds me of the stimulus checks during the pandemic. Had more than just a few clients tell me they didn't receive them.. Then a couple of months later they learned they refund had been held up because they had indeed received them
