am getting e-file rejection New York State from deferred comp reported on W-2 box 11

w-2 wages on 1040 line 1 = $-0-

income reported as non-qualified deferred comp 457 plan- other income schedule 1

New York state  taxes were withheld

what's the work-around ?

Error Detail:
Your New York state return could not be processed for e-filing by the state. New York returned the file with the following message: "New York State Wages should not be equal to zero when W-2 shows NY wages." Please review the entries on any W-2s associated with this return and the entries for NY wages on the IT-203. Correct any errors.

is there an amount in the box for state that you missed?

nothing is missing from w-2 data

the state wages (box 16) is the same as federal wages (box1)

box 11 (Sec 457) same as Fed & NY wages

on 1040 and IT-203 wages (line 1) = 0

box 11 income reported on Sched 1 (8t), which then flows to 1040 line 8 and IOT-203 line 16 (Other Income)

the NYS Wage/SE Allocation Sheet shows -0- ny wages

i believe this form is the one causing the error, but im having trouble finding a workaround
