north dakota k-1 withholding

I have a client with a non resident K-1 with North Dakota withholding. I am getting an error message when e-filing my non resident North Dakota ND-1 saying total north dakota withholding on line 26 must equal withholding from k-1s submitted with return. I put the ND withholding on the federal k-1 and also filled out the ND form 58 but keep getting the error message. I attached a copy of the K-1 but just as an other attachment did not see anywhere that said k-1 attachment. Thank you

Follow these steps:

Check the Federal K-1 Worksheet /Supplemental Info

Ensure the North Dakota withholding is entered in the State Tax Withheld field, specifically labeled for North Dakota.

Verify Form ND-1NR (Nonresident Calculation):

ProSeries often requires you to "source" the income to ND on the Schedule summarized on Form ND-1NR.

Check that the income from the K-1 is correctly appearing in the North Dakota column.

The "Form 58" Sync:

Ensure the withholding amount there matches the Federal K-1 input exactly.

Check a box on the ND Information Worksheet (Part V or similar) that tells the program to pull "Withholding from K-1s" onto the main ND-1 return.

E-file Attachments

Verify the North Dakota information worksheet has description and filename under electronic PDF attachments.

If the error persists, go to the ND-1, Line 26. Right-click the field and select "Data Source." This will show you exactly which form or worksheet ProSeries is pulling that number from. If it’s blank or pulling from a different worksheet than the one you filled out, you’ve found the disconnect.
