Non-custodial parent

Hi everybody. I searched for this issue at the beginning but couldn’t find an answer.

A non-custodial parent is applying for the CTC but not the EIC as you know. As you can see in the pictures, I get an error when I select Item H for the client as a non-custodial parent(under EIC column). On the very right side of Part III (Dependent Information Worksheet), I selected Item N and then checked “Do not wish to claim EIC” to remove the EIC.

Currently, the CTC amount is showing and the EIC has been removed, but I’m still getting the error. If I select “N” instead H in the EIC column, the error goes away. I enter zero for months lived with non-custodial but it is red. I do not know why Illinois gives her EITC credit?

In your opinion, what should I do?

Do you need Code H? I just mark the N ion that other box.  They dont qualify for EIC for that non custodial person, so I dont think H is needed.
