If youre charging money to prepare a tax return, you HAVE TO be able to look at the return and follow the money to know WHY things are the way they are.

Print out the entire return, follow the money to see why the end result is what it is.

follow the EIC rules and check them against the return. Are you sure it didn't calculate and they still have a balance due? also remember refunds or credits related to EIC cannot be made prior to Feb 15th.

you did not provide enough information for us to even try to help you. What is the income amount? They need to have net income no loss. How many children? social security numbers (taxpayer and children) taxpayer between 25 and 65 years old?

Sounds like you need to take some CE classes, or at least look up the IRS rules for EIC. Here is a link to IRS EITC central. https://www.irs.gov/tax-professionals/eitc-central

There are plenty of reason not to qualify for the EITC.   Try to IRS assistant for starters....

Is she claiming any dependent's? And do she and/or her dependent's have valid social security numbers? You still need to ask questions to determine they qualify.
