MJ versus MS Worksheet

Appears the married joint versus separate worksheet is incorrectly calculating by limited each spouse to the $5,000 SALT limit from the prior instead of $20,000 each?

MFJ/MFS worksheet has never been very accurate. If you want an accurate answer you have to split the MFJ return into two MFS…. Never works out to the worksheet results….

i use the worksheet to convince the unhappy couple that the government will get an extra 5k if they don’t shut up and let me do what’s best for them.

If at first you don’t succeed…..find a workaround
