Message box-action can't be completed because of underlying service

Get to client database and get message box that says: This action can't be completed because the underlying service is taking longer to respond. Retry after some time.  I usually get message after I have opened database but today message did not appear until I tried to efile, then I spent 20 min waiting for it to go away but I could not efile.  I have Windows 11 and am unsure where to go to try to fix this problem.  Proseries support closed now. 

 Anyone out there have this problem and fixed it??

Ive discovered this occurs when the software is checking for or downloading background updates.  I used to think it was when my cloud backup was running, but too many times now, Ive noticed the PS update icon spinning in the systray when that message happens.   I dont think theres much we can do about it but wait it out.  I even turned of background updates, and it still does it, it still checks for them.

 

20 minute seems unusually long though (I realize it seems really  long when you just want to finish!), unless youve got something else running in the background thats scanning or checking files.
