Are you sure?

The 2025 MD form on the Comptroller's website says $15,000.

Military gets $20,000.

The more I know the more I don’t know.

Had a client ask me about that today.

You have a wrong House Bill.  HB 0792 is the Criminal Law - Theft - Mail and Packages (Porch Piracy Act of 2026) and it's status is "Referred to Committee.  See https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Legislation/Details/HB0792.

Maryland SB0030 Income Tax - Subtraction Modification - Public Safety Employee Retirement Income Increasing, from $15,000 to $20,000, the amount allowed as a subtraction modification under the Maryland income tax for retirement income attributable to an individual's employment as a public safety employee; and applying the Act to all taxable years beginning after December 31, 2024.  It's status is  also "Referred to Committee.  See https://mgaleg.maryland.gov/mgawebsite/Legislation/Details/sb0030?ys=2025RS.

So, neither one is law.
