I have a taxpayer who is 100% disabled and has retirement military pension.  Maryland allows up to $41,200 exclusion to the income but the Pension exclusion form wont populate the exclusion amount after you enter the information.  I have entered the Code M on the 1099 R form.  Can someone please tell me how to get the form to populate the exclusion amount.

The Maryland Pension Exlcusion Worksheet only applies to those age 65 and older. There is is a Military pension deduction of up to $20,000 for those under that age.  See https://veterans.maryland.gov/Benefits/TaxExemptions/Pages/Retirement-Pay-and-Pension-Tax-Deductions-and-Exclusion.aspx

Thank you for the response.  I really appreciate that.  The form said older than 65 or totally disabled.  Can you tell me if someone that was granted 100% disabled states with the VA, does that not qualify for totally disabled?  Or do Maryland qualify totally disabled as the ability of not being able to return to work?
