Married filing separately for state returns only
Is there a problem e-filing the state returns when the federal return is not e-filed? These newlyweds did not live together and lived in separate states. They will file a joint federal return but separately for state returns.
Both proforma federal returns for the MFS do not have e-filing checked for federal but they do for state. It is not giving me an error at this point but I am concerned it will reject upon e-filing.
Any experience with this?
