Married filing jointly: If the husband lives in the USA, but the wife returned to her home country in the Caribbean due to pending immigration activities, should the couple file MFJ or the husband should file for single? Both parties have valid SS and ID cards, the husband lives in the USA for 12 months, and the wife for 0 months. Please advice.

Single isnt an option if theyre married, its either MFJ or MFS, or maybe HOH if a child is involved
