T & S are mfj.  T lives in Hawaii, S lives in Florida.  S is a part year Hawaii resident, with some Hawaii income.  Would T file a Hawaii resident return, and S file a separate part year Hawaii resident return?  Would they file the Hawaii returns as single?  Lost.

Check the instructions for Hawaii. Quick look and Tcan file MFS….i didn’t see anything allowing T to file single. Each state has its own rules

Where does alleged FL resident vote, register vehicle...this could determine residency.

I didn’t see S had Hawaii income. File MFJ Hawaii.
