Maritime worker & state tax
Have a new client who works for marine transportation services. No state taxes were withheld at all. Doe he get taxed by his resident state? His whole job is spent overseas in the US. Thank you.

There is a marine law that states state taxes cannot be withheld from marine transportation workers, unless the worker wants them withheld. The worker still has to pay state taxes in his home state.
