Issues with 8839 - Adoption Credit?
Line 5 of the 8839 (Adoption Credit), is pulled from the 8893 Worksheet. We have completed the worksheet, but line 5 does not populate. Any thoughts?
NOTE: Line 5 of 8839 seems to be pointing to 8b on the worksheet. If we put a number in there, THAT is what populates) (Qualified adoption credits PAID IN PRIOR YEAR for one of the following: Failed adoption attempt, an adoption that was not final in 2023, a foreign adoption that was final in 2024, including prior year expenses. For our client, that is $0. But if I put 999 in that field, THAT is what populates on Line 5 of 8839.
This seems like a programming error but before I report it as such, does anyone have any tips on this form?
