Is it possible to import stock transactions from an investment company thru ProSeries instead of manually entering them all?

I think there’s an import feature but it’s an add on….
Or, you can summarize each code A-F on the worksheet as multiple transactions, then attach the 1099B detail as a pdf in the EF center as an 8949.

If at first you don’t succeed…..find a workaround

Yes it is possible; it's included with Proseries.But not all brokerage houses are supported.

Open the tax return

On the menu bar click "Import"

The first menu item in the pop up is "Financial Institute Download"

Select "Request 1099 and W2 data from client".

Your client will receive an email with instructions.

When you receive the data, a down arrow will appear next to the client's return in the "99"

column

You don't need to manually enter all of the covered transactions either. You can enter totals for the ST and LT ones. No attachment needed for the covered ones.

I have to say, I've never attached statements even for the noncovered. Never an IRS notice. I think if the proceeds match, IRS only would inquire via a selective audit.
