Question

If I have a Estate with a fiscal year beginning Jun 1,25-May 31, 26 with a K1 to the taxpayer, will that be for tax year 2026 and not 2025?

I have an estate with a fiscal year of June 1, 2025, thru May 31, 2026, with a K1 for the taxpayer.  I am not able to e-file the 1041 until after May 2026.  So, will that K1 go on the taxpayer's 2026 tax return obviously?

    The K-1 items go on the beneficiary's 2026 tax return.

    The more I know the more I don’t know.
