Question

I cannot get the menu bar to work and I cannot get the clients to open

I've downloaded the 2024 Pro Series and it worked fine until Dec 22,2024.  Now after I sign in it opens, but the menu bar goes grey and nothing can be accessed.  My clients are all listed but I cannot open them.  I have done all updates and used tool Hub/repair.  Any suggestions?

Have you tried repair updates from the windows menu. Try refresh updates from top menu. Try rebooting computer. If no luck uninstall program from windows settings, then reinstall

If youve done everything Terry suggested, sadly, it sounds like you'll need to call support.

@balbal Could you send ProSeries logs located at "C:\ProWin24\32bit\logs\" zip this folder and send it to proseries_engineering@intuit.com

Well Tech support got the program working yesterday, but today the same problem.

@balbal Can you check if there is another ProSeries window (PRS Survey or any other dialog) opened in the background? You can press Alt+Tab to see what windows are open. If you any dialog window open from ProSeries, close that and try. Let us know if this helps. If not, can you also put a screenshot of your ProSeries application when you land into this issue.

I made sure nothing else was running or open when I started this.  I was suppose to get a call back from my escalated case, but no one ever responded.  I called them on Friday 1-3-2025 to find out why no one called and was told my case was escalated and I would receive a call back that day - well guess what still NO CALL!

I am having exactly the same issue. 

 

Has anyone figured out what the hell is going on?

No one was able to help me.  I even contacted Microsoft to see if they could help.  Microsoft said it was a problem with software compatibility and ProSeries should issue a fix/patch for it.  And ProSeries it is not their software.  

I had to switch to a different tax software and I am satisfied with my pick and their customer service.

Sounds like a local cache or profile glitch after the update. Try clearing temp/app data and restarting the app service from Task Manager. If Tool Hub didn’t fix it, creating a new company file/profile sometimes brings the menu back. Also worth checking graphics drivers — greyed-out UI can come from display conflicts. I troubleshoot similar issues on my gaming site too — even when posting guides like [Removed by Moderator] the same step-by-step approach usually solves it.

Try hitting alt +tab. Proseries sometimes opens a tab that you can't see. Mine was an advertisement. When you hit Alt + Tab you may see a ProSeries program or ad. Close it. Worked for me.
