I am a resident of North Carolina, but I work in Massachusetts; I have a rental property in NC; how do I remove the NC rental income from my Non-Resident MA return?

Many times NR state returns compute the tax on ALL income, then multiply the total tax by the % of NR income vs all income....could that be whats happening?

Aren't you going to need that value?

"If you're a nonresident of Massachusetts, you must file a Massachusetts Income Tax Return if you received Massachusetts source income in excess of your personal exemption multiplied by the ratio of your Massachusetts source income to your total income, or your gross income was more than $8,000 – whether received from sources inside or outside Massachusetts."

@qbteachmt  MA pulls total income for that ratio from the Federal.
