how to resolve IND-180-01 return rejected for IP PIN number

I'm trying to resolve this error and entered my client's PIN and it's stating that it's not matching IRS records? Client checked the PIN and it's entered correctly, how to fix this?

Make sure you have the correct year Pin. It changes every year and I've had multiple clients just give me the prior year form. They can go onto the IRS website and search for Retrieve Your IPIN. If none of those work, I guess mail in attaching the PIN letter to the front of the return with the reject notice copy.

    You just fill out form 8948 and check box 4, and mail. pin is only for e-file. You don't have to attach for mail
