Question

how to report stock transaction with basis reported to the IRS directly on Schedule D, lines 1a & 8a. Do I need to change something in the Tax Return Options of Settings?

    at the very top of the 1099B worksheet (theres a quick zoom button to it at the top of Sch D) are boxes to input the total of covered sales, both long and short, is that what youre looking for?.   

    Ive never tried to input directly into the lines of Sch D, I think most boxes are unenterable and come from the 8949 which gets generated from entries o the 1099B worksheet..
