how to report a sale of inherited home that is on form 1099s?

it was inherited and sold within months. based on my research, i have to report it on Schedule D.  but i dont know exactly how.  first section is for short term, the second section is for long term.  and this mainly for sale of stock.  Please help

Use the 1099B worksheet and just skip over the brokerage info at the top, and use the entry tables below   If you use INHERITED for the purchase date it will make it long term automatically.
