HOW TO FILE AN AMENDED 1040X FOR 2025.  REALIZED AFTER I E FILED THE W2 WAS INCORRECT.

Here is the official version.  As a side note, I never make a copy of the return prior to amending.  I use the original file but I always keep a printed copy of the originally filed return.

Amending an individual return (1040X) in ProSeries

    You really should wait for the original to complete processing, the IRS may catch it and fix it for you automatically, if that does happen, your amendment will muck up the system..
