I'm a ProSeries Basic user.  How do I elect to carry a Schedule C loss forward to next year's return?

You don't.

You carryforward a NOL, which may or may not occur if there's a Sch C loss.   It depends on the other income reported on the tax return.

And to add to ABC comment, I think that nol on the return is automatically carried forward to the next year if my memory serves right.

@IRonMaN or maybe it may work like the alleged election campaign irregularities when dead people allegedly casted ballots and other alleged shenanigans when JFK defeated Nixon???

Since they are both dead, technically, dead people would be allowed to vote for them.
