Question

How do I amend an individual 1040 return. When I do to the question area it sends me to ProConnect. I have ProSeries.

The instructions for amending a return seem to indicate someone else prepared the original return but this isn't true in my case. I prepared the original return.

I've never amended a return in proseries where it asked me quetions. Are you a preparer using proseries for a client or are you trying to amend your own return?

Weird, Ive got 2 returns sitting waiting for the 1040X to be ready, ding dong earlier filers with new stuff I didnt know to ask for! I didnt see any questions like that.

I just activate the 1040X and the State amended form, then I go back and make the corrections, write the explanation,  and mark it for EF, pop back to the state to make sure everything looks right, and were good to go.
