HOH & Dependent

The client filed head of household for 2023, her parent was a dependent.  Only residents in the home are the client and her mom.  Client is unmarried.  

Mom died March 2024.  Can client be HOH and have mom as a dependent for 2024 filing? Thank you

Yes, provided all the other requirements continue to be met (for example, tell the client not to get married even though there may now be room for a husband ...)
