hi please help me . i can not e-file my returns, it says the efin has not been registered to your account,please verify your efin with us.

my ero number how can i get this number, should I apply to the IRS?

The tax preparation firm, you if you are a sole proprietor, need an EFIN to efile tax returns.

You get it from the IRS and should have applied for it several months ago.

If you already have one, you need to submit certain info to ProSeries so they can verify you are eligible to efile with their software.

The more I know the more I don’t know.

    If you don't have an EFIN yet, you won't be e-filing before April 15th.

        If you have an EFIN already, this is how you register it....if you dont have one, it can be a long process to acquire one from IRS
