Form 8879-TA is not part of the e-signature package.  How do I make this show up for clients to e-sign when Form 4547 is part of the return?

I see it in the software and it looks like its complete and ready to go, but Im not seeing how to activate it either.

Youd think by clicking the box to EF it along with the return it would automatically complete it.....did you run through Review to see if it mentions it in the diagnostics anywhere?

Speaking of the 4547 instructions, there's this:

Requirements for an electronic Form 4547. The
requirements for signing an electronic Form 4547 will be
different depending on whether you use tax software or a
tax practitioner. You should follow the instructions given to
you by the tax software or the tax practitioner.

Same Issue still today.  It does not seem to get sent along with the normal e-signature 8879s.  Crazy!

In proseries you can go into forms to print - it's under e-file and bank products worksheet and change it to print if required and it has been printing out for me when the From 4547 is included it the tax return.

Yes, it prints with the return.  But it should be part of the e-signature process.  Right now it only submits the 8879 for e-signature.

Does anyone know how to get the paid preparer information to fill in on the

Form 4547.

It is supposed to flow from the 1040. Maybe an update will fix

"It is supposed to flow from the 1040"

But I haven't seen anything from Intuit saying that it ever will flow from the 1040.  The way things are going this year with forms being finalized (or should I say - not being finalized) I'm thinking folks should just settle for being happy that the form is up and running already.

Still having this issue today....updates have not corrected.  Still can't get an e*signature on 8879-TA.

I called today and spoke with Lacerte about this. 8879-TA is not part of Client copy, not part of preparer copy or the government copy, or the e-filing package. I was told that this was intentional because "no taxpayer signature is needed" since the form is auto signed with a PIN. I believe they are confused about the purpose of 8879. The 8879 authorizes us, the ERO, to use a PIN as the taxpayer's signature on the form. In this case, the 8879-TA authorizes the ERO to use the taxpayer PIN as the signature on Form 4547. So the 8879-TA needs to be signed by the taxpayer, just like they have to sign the regular 8879. I hope Lacerte can get this fixed soon. For now, I believe I will need to print the 8879-TA from the Forms list and manually include it with the other e-file paperwork.
