Form 1099-B Worksheet - Summary Table Not Including All Subtotals
This functionality worked as expected in the 2024 software but does not appear to work in 2025.
In the 2024 version, the “Brokerage Statement (1099-B) Summary Table” included all transactions entered on the worksheet. That table pulled in both:
Line-by-line entries from the Quick Entry Table, and
Transactions summarized in the Form 8949 Reporting Exception Transaction table, allowing us to aggregate proceeds and basis for Code A and Code D transactions.
In the 2025 version, the summarized Code A and Code D transactions are no longer included in the Brokerage Statement Summary Table. This significantly reduces the usefulness of the table as a reconciliation tool against the actual 1099-B.
Was this an intentional change? The 2025 software also appears to introduce an additional summary section on the 1099-B worksheet titled “Form 8949 and Schedule D Totals.” It is possible that this programming change unintentionally altered the behavior of the Brokerage Statement Summary Table.
