Filing 990 after short year return in same calendar year?
I need to prepare and efile a 990 for a client who changed their year-end in 2024 from May to June. I efiled the 5/31/24 return in 2023 ProSeries, and I efiled the 1 month short-year return for 6/30/24 in 2024 ProSeries. Am I able to efile the 990 for the year ending 6/30/25 also in 2024 ProSeries (perhaps by changing file name)? If not, how will I be able to efile this new year-end 990 return, and/or even its extension considering it all has to be efiled? The Intuit help guy said to wait for 2025 software, but will I be able to make the year match up?
