Question

Fees for each state not showing on invoice

I use the charges by forms for federal and state returns. 1120-S invoice only shows the Federal Subtotal and is blank in the section that the nonresident states (4) are normally shown. However, the total fees for the states is appearing in the invoice total.

I’ve compared all the state invoice settings to the 2024 tax return and everything is the same. The pages after the federal forms show each state and the forms but there is no count shown. The federal section does show the count per form.

I prepared an invoice this morning for a 1065 and everything was fine. I’ve restarted my computer and the problem still persists.

What do I need to do to get the states listed with their total fee and the forms listed? I do not list forms per charge so the total charge for each state is usually shown on the invoice.

Thank you for your help.

go to each state and check the billing worksheet there - you might need to update it

Thanks for your help.

I have checked each state’s billing worksheet and everything is the same as the 2024 options. I updated PS as well. Still have the same problem.

One thing I noticed - the states don’t appear on the invoice, just a blank area, and the total amount on the invoice is just the federal charges. However, on the Client-Specific Billing Options worksheet, the state fees are included in the Total Tax Return Fee.

The invoice is correct on my assistant’s computer and it shows the state charges and form count as usual. We are on a network. That's weird why it would be different on each of our PS program.

Anyone experienced this before and can offer advice on what to do to correct this issue?

Thanks.

Generate the invoice from your assistant’s computer. 😄

The more I know the more I don’t know.

That’s what we did. But the problem needs to be fixed. It’s ridiculous for a “professional” tax software to have issues like this.
