I have an ERO EFIN and PIN.  I am preparing a Form 1065 and NC D-403 for an LLC owned by my husband and me.  Self-preparing so entered XSP for preparer.  However, the ERO EFIN/PIN that prints on the Form 8879-PE has my correct ERO EFIN, but uses the signer LLC Member PIN for the ERO PIN.  Can anyone help me get my ERO PIN on the Form 8879-PE?

Does it matter?

The ERO PIN can be any 5 numbers.

And the ERO can use a different PIN on every return if they want.

The more I know the more I don’t know.

Thank you for your reply.  I do not file many returns and I have never used a different ERO PIN on different returns, so I don't know what happens if I use a different PIN per return.  The only guidance I can find is Publication 1345 that says EROs should use the same PIN for the entire year.

The only time Ive ever been asked about that PIN is when I was on the phone with PPS one time and only that one time.

FWIW I sign every return that leaves my office, including my own, whether Im paid or not.  Ive never used XSP or the non paid preparer option.
