Drop in the number of tax retur preparers

While I cannot be sure of the drop in the number of tax return preparers that has been reported being accurate I can see that with the changes in the tax laws since 2017 that has happen there would be a drop in the number of tax return preparers that would be needed. With the elimination of so many tax reductions and the increase of the standard deduction  schedule a has in many cases become something of the past.  And if the income being reported is strictly from wages , interest and dividends. and retirement income why would anyone with an 8th grade education need an outside tax preparer.

All of those preparers didn't quit, they all died.  A bad batch of Fireball during COVID killed them all.  Only folks that had built up a strong tolerance from years of drinking it survived.

@rcooley25 not to change the subject, but I will anyway.  How is retirement going?  Are you consuming less Fireball not having the stress of tax season or are you consuming more because you missed us too much?😜

Here's the reason ----   I ride a Harley Davidson. I know how to change the oil. Not difficult. I JUST DON'T WANT TO DEAL WITH IT. I take the bike to a neighbor who used to work for Harley, he charges me $100 and it's done.

Frankly, I wish I had 500 clients like that -- charge them $250 each and each return would take 30 minutes.
