Does the ProSeries update requirement for prior years apply to Basic or just Professional?

Updates apply to both Professional and Basic. If you have Basic installed, please update it.

I have been trying and trying, over the last few weeks, to follow all the instructions and get my prior years of ProSeries Basic updated.

I'm stuck.

I've updated 2020, 21, and 22.

Cannot get 2016-2019 to work.

Should I reinstall those years from scratch?

Can I ignore them and work without them as long as I don't have to go back and amend anything?

Have you tried updating from your windows start menu?

I don't know about you, but the odds of me needing to go back to the program to work on a client file that far back is somewhere between slim and none. If your odds are about the same, I guess I wouldn't lose a lot of sleep over it if updating from your start menu doesn't work.
