CP81 Notice for tax year 2022
Client just sent me a copy of a CP81 notice saying there is a credit of over $20K on their account and that they show no record of a return being filed for 2022 and they want a new copy signed or they risk losing the credit and any resulting refund. It was efiled and accepted (I use proseries). IRS error or Scam. We are not sending another copy of the return and I have them trying to call the IRS. Anyone else seeing this?
