I have a non profit client with gross receipt less than 50k , so I prepared 990n for federal and chose electronic filling for both federal and state. when I filed the CA 199 form, Proseries throw error said : California efile requirements don't allow federal form 990n be to selected on the federal return. filing this return by mailing it.

How can I fix it ? thanks

I dont prepare 990s,or CA 199s, so I dont know how they work, but if you uncheck the EF box for the 990 (since its already been Filed), does he error for CA go away?

no, the error still exists. I haven't filed federal (990) or state yet. I want to use proseries to file them together.

Any updates on ProSeries allowing an efile for State form 199 when using Federal form 1120?

@LoriBob  Why would you have that combination?

The more I know the more I don’t know.

I have the same issue. Prepare many HOA tax returns 1120 or 1120-H and CA forms 100 and 199. Proseries will not efile the 199. Lacerte will. I really do not wish to transfer to Lacerte. Proseries is blaming the state for not approving the efielibng for the 199. Yet there is a state law requiring efiling if using computer software. So have to get a wavier each year. What a mess.

Could you efile the CA 199 if you did it in the exempt org/990 module instead of the 1120?

Yes it works with the 990.
