Does anyone know how to get the 1120H to file electronically in ProSeries?  I called ProSeries and they were no help whatsoever.  I am getting a rejection from the IRS.

There isn't anything magical about it.  You file it just like you would an 1120.  What does the rejection say?

Open the return.

In part II mark the return 1120-H.

If you see any "1120" in the forms in use list at the left of page,..open those forms, and delete the form.

I think they are 2 of them that show up for some reason.  After you delete the forms in use that only have 1120 on them (not 1120-H), you should be good to go.  It's worked for me for last 2 years.

Caveat.. I thought they fixed that earlier in the tax season. But the above worked every time, if you have any 1120 forms in use.  Stumbled on it by accident while doing some 2024 HOA tax returns.

Thank you for your response.  I did delete the two 1120 forms, as they created an error that wouldn't let me even try to file.  After I deleted them, it let me submit it but it was rejected by the IRS.  When you go to the home page and see the list of returns, it just says 1120.  I think that may be the issue but I'm not sure.  I have asked the client to verify it is listed as 1120H with the IRS but other than that, I'm at a loss of how to get it to go through.  I just had the client mail it this year.

Thanks,

Liz

Ok, anyone on this thread.  I have marked the return as 1120H.  I have a copy of the IRS letter showing the company is 1120H.  I have deleted all of the regular 1120 forms, even a backup detail, and I am still getting a rejection from the IRS.  My concern is when I look at the list in the EF list of returns, it still says 1120 under "Fed Type" so I'm wondering if this is why it is getting rejected, and if so, how do I get that to change?

Here is what it says in the rejection:

The return type indicated in the return header must match the return type established with the IRS for the EIN.

Has anyone had this error message?

Thanks,

Liz
