Can a taxpayer be claimed as a dependent if married filing separate? The mfs taxpayers spouse is claimed as a dependent but does not file a tax return.

No. Why is spouse with income filing separate when mfj would be of more benefit. 




Never. Why does spouse with income want to file MFS when MFJ is of more benefit? If MFS then spouse with no income doesn't file and is never a dependent
